Committee

The Irish Disabled Sailing Association committee is elected at an AGM each year. The current line up for 20079 follows below. Please feel free to contact any committee member for further information on taking up sailing.

Alison Ryan

Alison is a long serving member of the committee. Alison has been involved with the IDSA for over ten years. She works in a professional capacity with the Disability Federation of Ireland. Alison enjoys the administration side of sailing.

Kevin Downing

Kevin is the chairperson of IDSA. This is his time as chairperson. He started sailing fifteen years ago and has represented Ireland at European and World events. Kevin sails squibs in Kinsale.

Paul Ryan
Paul has represented Ireland at European, World and the paralympics in China in 2008. He is the captain of the recently established Access Class in Kinsale but sails Sonar competatively. With paul present, there alway "just one more thing" on the agenda. Suffice to say, Paul has great energy and greater ambitions for the sport of Disabled Sailing.

Wyon Stansfeld
Wyon has been sailing with the IDSA for over ten years and has been a committee member for the last five years. He currently crews for Kevin Downing on his Squib. As Wyon is normally the man holding the camera, there is a prize for anyone who can get a picture of Wyon for the website

Amy kelehan
Amy is the youngest of our committee, but already an 'old hand' at sailing. Amy has represented Ireland at European, World and the paralympics in China in 2008. Amy normally sails the Martin 16 but sailed Skub in China.  she has proven herself to be a highly motivated organiser.

John Leane
John became involved with the Irish Disabled Sailing Association through his tall ship sailing on Lord Nelson and Tenacious belonging to the Jubilee Sailing Trust. John was delighted to be voyage crew on the Tenacious when she came 2nd in the 2005 Tall Ships race to France.
