| Posted by administrator (administrator) on Jul 26 2010 |

The “Mountain Quest” fundraiser takes place the last weekend of August 2010 in aid of the "Kinsale Sailing club-Access Sailing Programme" which is a sailing class for Children with Disabilities.
The Access class in Kinsale was Ireland first sailing programme for children with disabilities and was launched on 29th August, 2009. The programme is currently offering weekly Saturday sailing sessions in Kinsale harbour, where up to 30 children/teenagers receive coaching from qualified instructors.
The fundraising will go towards the purchase of new sailing dinghies which are needed to support the growing interest in the programme.
The event is being run and coordinated by Will and Away. This fundraising challenge involves trekking from Glenbeigh to Killarney, travelling through Ireland's most impressive mountainous region. This adventure will teach the participants many interesting facts about Ireland, from our ancient history to the wonder of our natural environment.
The Mountain Quest is suitable for all ages and abilities. However a good level of fitness is required. Participants will be in the hands of fully qualified, experienced and friendly guides. A training day, insurance cover, fully qualified and experienced guides, specialist equipment, food, accommodation and bus transfers will all be provided.
Each participant has to raise €500 in sponsorship, and needs to be 16 years or older to take part. For further details email here or click Will and Away
